Graduate Visa

At Zare & Co Law Firm, we provide expert assistance with the Graduate Visa, designed for international students who have completed their studies in the UK. This visa allows graduates to stay and work for up to 2 years (or 3 years for PhD graduates), offering a valuable opportunity to gain work experience and build a career in the UK.

Eligibility Requirements

To be eligible for the Graduate Visa, you must:

  • Have Completed a Qualifying Course: Your degree must be awarded by a UK higher education provider with a valid sponsor licence.
  • Hold a Valid Student Visa: You must be in the UK on a valid Student Visa (formerly Tier 4) at the time of application.
  • Meet English Language Requirements: Your course must have been taught in English, meeting the required language standards.

Key Benefits

  • Work Flexibility: The Graduate Visa permits you to work in any job, at any skill level, or be self-employed, allowing you to gain diverse work experience.
  • No Sponsorship Required: Unlike other visa types, you do not need a job offer or sponsorship to apply for this visa.
  • Pathway to Long-Term Visas: Experience gained under this visa can support applications for other long-term visas, such as the Skilled Worker Visa.

Application Process

  1. Prepare Your Documents: Gather your degree certificate, proof of your current Student Visa, and other necessary documents.
  2. Complete the Online Application: Submit your application via the UK Government’s online application system.
  3. Pay the Application Fee: The application fee is £822.
  4. Pay the Healthcare Surcharge: The healthcare surcharge is £1,035 per year of visa validity.
  5. Biometric Appointment: You may need to attend an appointment to provide biometric information, including fingerprints and a photograph.

Important Updates and Considerations

  • Application Timing: You must apply within 6 months of receiving your final results or before your current Student Visa expires.
  • Work Restrictions: While you can work in most roles, you cannot apply for certain other visas, such as the Start-up Visa, until your Graduate Visa expires.
  • Dependants: Dependants who were on your Student Visa can also apply to stay in the UK under the Graduate Visa provisions.
